Antonio Brown named Pittsburgh Steelers Most Valuable Player – 2012 Antonio Browns Pro Bowl Jersey

Former Central Michigan University star Antonio Brown was the surprising pick as the Pittsburgh Steelers Most Valuable Player in a vote conducted by the players, the Pittsburgh Steelers announced Thursday. Brown, in his second season in the NFL, is only the sixth Steelers’ receiver to win the award in the last 40 years. Brown was named to the Pro Bowl as a kicker returner. He wore Antonio Brown Pro Bowl Jersey and broke the team’s single-season record for all-purpose yards with 2,048 yards while posting career highs in punt returns with 30, with punt return yards with 325, kickoff returns with 24 and kickoff return yards with 664. The 23-year-old Brown also had more than 1,000 receiving yards and was third in the NFL in third-down receptions with 26. The sixth-round pick by Pittsburgh Steelers in 2010 is the first Steelers receiver to earn team MVP honors since Hines Ward in 2005. Safety Troy Polamula was the Steelers’ MVP in 2010.
