2011 Davon House Packers Jersey – Green Bay Packers Draft Jersey
A positive story all the way around. From Davon House’s rise, to his performance at New Mexico State, to his selection in the fourth round of the 2011 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers on Saturday. Devon House will wear Davon House Packers Jersey and play for Green Bay Packers next season. Green Bay Packers are glad to recruit Devon House and see him wearing Green Bay Packers Jerseys. After wearing Authentic NFL Jerseys, Devon House will deepen the backup depth of Green Bay Packers. House was the 34th pick of the fourth round – the final pick of the round – and the 131st selection overall. Two-hundred-fifty-four players were taken by the 32 NFL teams during the three-day, seven-round event. House was the 20th cornerback taken and one of 15 players selected from the Western Athletic Conference. He became the 60th Aggie player drafted in the program’s history. The last was Siddeeq Shabazz, who was a seventh-round pick by the Oakland Raiders in 2003. The last Aggie to be drafted as high as House was Joe Campbell, who also was taken in the fourth round of the 1989 draft. “This is the most happy I have ever been,” House wore Davon House Packers Jersey and said. “Since I signed my scholarship at New Mexico State.” Green Bay is one of the NFL’s most storied and successful franchises. The team won last year’s Super Bowl – Super Bowl XLV – and has drafted well during the six-year tenure of head coach Mike McCarthy and general manager Ted Thompson, who has been with the club seven seasons. Nine of the Packers’ 11 defensive starters essentially began their careers with the club while 10 of the 11 offensive starters were homegrown products. The team’s offense is anchored by all-pro quarterback Aaron Rogers. Prior to the draft, House was projected as a mid-round pick, a player who had the physical tools – 6-foot-1, between 190 and 200 pounds and a 4.35-second time in the 40-yard dash – but has to build more strength to tackle better on the next level. House will not immediately report to Green Bay and his salary remains up in the air with the NFL lockout in effect. “He is going to a quality organization,” New Mexico State head coach DeWayne Walker said of House. “He will get mentored and improve to become a better player.” House is a classic example of what Aggie football is and what it could become. Then-NMSU recruiting coordinator Earnest Wilson and defensive coordinator Woody Widenhofer invited him to fall training camp in 2007 with the understanding that if House performed well, a scholarship would follow. He did just that and did not look back. House got playing time right off the bat his freshman year, scoring a touchdown on a 100-plus-yard interception return against Idaho and picking off a team-high four passes that season. He would go on to intercept 11 passes during his Aggie career – which ranks sixth all time – and score three touchdowns. House broke up 46 passes in his career and also recovered three fumbles while earning All-WAC honors his final two years at NMSU. He was also a quality individual, making headlines on the field and not off it while earning his college degree following the 2010 season. “Hard work,” Wilson said of House’s rise. “All hard work.” And it is a positive for the Aggies, showing to high school football players that they can come to NMSU and be recognized. “I want to thank New Mexico State for all it is done,” House wore NFL Throwback Jerseys and said. “All my great fans there. We all made it. Hopefully there will be more to come.”
